Accurate Archery Yardage Marker Light

How It Started...

My love of archery hunting originated ten years ago after having dinner at a friend's house. He happened to be an avid hunter and served Venison back straps seared on his grill. They were amazing. After several trips to the woods enjoying the solitude and watching animals in their native environment I was hooked.

Two seasons ago I was in a tree house watching the setting sun, when along came a shooter buck. The sun had almost completely set and I ranged the Buck at 42 yards. I started to adjust my single pin yardage marker on my bow but, due to the lower light, I was unable to see well enough to do so. Not wanting a bad shot on my conscience I didn’t take the shot and watched the Buck wander off.

The next spring the same thing happened to me while hunting turkeys in my ground blind. I made an aluminum bracket to hold a light that would shine on my adjustable yardage marker. After seeing how well it worked in low light situations many of my fellow bow hunters asked if I could make one for their bows. After many adjustments and considerations the Yardage Marker Tape Light was born. The new design will work for 99% of all single pin yardage markers.
